Menxons Advances Environmental and Community Engagement for Tikobo 1 Block

Menxons Limited has reached another important milestone in advancing its onshore oil and gas exploration programme at the Tikobo 1 Block in the Jomoro District of Ghana's Western Region.

As part of the environmental assessment process, Menxons published a Scoping Notice in the Daily Graphic, formally communicating its proposed exploration activities and inviting stakeholders, institutions and members of the public to provide relevant concerns, information and observations.

Environmental Assessment Progress

Following the scoping process, Menxons has progressed with the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the proposed exploration programme. The assessment process has provided an important platform for identifying potential environmental and social considerations associated with the project and developing appropriate measures for responsible project execution.

The assessment has produced a positive outcome, supporting the continued advancement of the project towards the next stages of exploration, subject to the required regulatory approvals and processes.

Community Entry & Stakeholder Engagement

Recognising that responsible exploration begins with meaningful engagement, Menxons has also commenced community entry and stakeholder engagement activities within the project area. These engagements are focused on:

  • Introducing the project to host communities and stakeholders.
  • Providing clear information about the proposed exploration activities.
  • Listening to community concerns and expectations.
  • Building constructive relationships with traditional authorities and local stakeholders.
  • Promoting transparency and understanding throughout the exploration process.
  • Identifying opportunities for local participation and community development.

Moving Forward

Menxons remains committed to conducting exploration activities with respect for communities, the environment and Ghana's regulatory framework.

The Tikobo 1 Block represents an important component of Menxons' growing Ghanaian exploration portfolio, and the Company continues to work with regulators, technical partners, traditional authorities, communities and other stakeholders to advance the project responsibly.
